The Green Party seems to have changed its focus a little bit in recent times.

I don't see any way of reversing this particular trend in predominantly Muslim areas and I'm not so sure how much difference it will make on a national level. It's worrying to me that even council elections are becoming more involved with international problems rather than potholes and planning issues. What do people like this actually offer the people in their areas?

"London is no longer British". Yes that is racist. Strange how the same people didn't care when Boris Johnson (who is American) was mayor. If you are saying the same things as Britain First then you are most likely a racist.
It's great to see far right in tears and long may it continue.

See, you've just made the mistake a lot of people make. Not everyone who sees what's happening is fat right, it's a lazy media led stereotype designed to shut down anyone with a different opinion. Not everyone with different opinions drapes themselves in a union flag or drinks Carling.

Some people either can't or won't see what's happening........I think it must be the latter..

And what is wrong with that? What part upsets you? Is it the part where he says they want to raise the voice of Gaza and Palestine or the bit where he says "god is the greatest".

It's strange how people are getting upset over people not wanting innocent people to be murdered by Israel and not wanting a country to be destroyed by a country committing war crimes.

You might be missing the point a tiny bit though.

There's no doubt that Gaza/Israel is one of the biggest international issues of our time.....but should it really be the deciding factor in local councillor elections in some Northern England areas under the guise of the "Green" party?

Gaza nor Israel has nothing whatsoever to do with local politics in this country, making it a big deal for local council elections sets a worrying precedent.

Boris is hardly American. He happened to be born in Manhattan because his parents were working there. He was 3 months old when they returned to the UK

So instead of making pathetic unfunny comments about my family being burka’d up, and other sly dog whistle insinuations, why don’t you spell out exactly what it is you think is happening? Then we could have a proper discussion about it.

I see the Tories and the client press are pushing a hung parliament on the back of the shitshow elections for Sunak.

It won't be a hung parliment. Where as in council elections a number of candidates can be elected such as independent, green, etc. When it comes to a general election the greens would be lucky to get another seat to add to the one they have and barely any independent candidates get elected ever.

It's usually a straight fight between two.

This is a positive spin story for the Tories who are completely finished.

Precisely. They’re basing this spin on a very flawed analysis that ignores several crucial points:
    - There’ll be much more tactical voting to get the Tories out in a GE. Local elections are based on small wards, where independents, LibDems and Greens can have localised pockets of support. Far fewer people will risk wasting their vote on fringe candidates who have no chance in a larger constituency area.
My own ward, Baildon, is a classic example of this. The Labour candidate fell about 300 short of beating the deputy leader of Bradford Tory group. The anti-Tory vote was split by an independent - a serial failure ex Labour candidate - who got nearly 500 votes, which let the Tories in. Most of those who voted for him will vote Labour in the GE. Likewise, many of those in Shipley Central who elected a Green councillor will vote Labour in the GE to get Phillip Davies out.

    - The Tories have lost hundreds of councillors nationwide. Along with the generally demoralised morale of the party membership, this will decimate their ‘boots on the ground’ capacity. Local councillors are the bedrock of local campaigns, pulling in their friends and family to canvass, deliver leaflets etc. Meanwhile, Labour activists are rejuvenated and will be piling all their resources into southern ‘blue wall’ seats that were previously unwinnable but are now very much up for grabs.

    - Reform UK split the Tory vote everywhere they fielded candidates, but they only did so in a small number of seats. They’re intending to do so in every constituency in the GE. All the available data says this will hammer the Tory vote much harder than Labour.

    - The analysis that the Tories are using assumes that Scotland (which didn’t have local elections last week) will vote as it did in 2019. That’s not happening. The Scot Nats are possibly in even worse disarray than the Tories. Labour is expected to capture at least 20 Scottish seats. This will not only bolster its MP numbers but makes the previous idea of ‘Vote Labour, get Salmond/Sturgeon etc’ look totally implausible. Nobody believes that the Scot Nats are going to hold the balance of power.

    - The Tories are now much, much more unpopular than the last time they tried this scare tactic. The country is sick to the back teeth of them and very few people believe anything they have to say. It may have worked once but it won’t work this time.
